We look forward to trading with you!

About World Swappers

Meet fellow fans and swap for fun surprises! Bring something handmade or purchased, and trade it for other goodies from a group of fans just as excited as you. Bring 50, bring 200, bring however many of your items as you like and want to be able to swap. Some items will be a direct 1-to-1 trade, meaning you'll need to give your item to receive an item. Some members may bring items that require a passphrase, or have you to tell them a secret, or you may just need to know to ask about it! WorldSwappers will have a document ready for you to reference and check what you'll need to do to earn all the awesome stuff that will be available.

How it works

The best way to get an idea of what other people are swapping, where they'll be, and any updates will be to join our Discord server. Not on Discord? Follow us on Instagram instead!Once you arrive at Dragonsteel Nexus, expect the vast majority of trading to happen organically. At this time, there are no large meetups planned. However, attendees who support our Backerkit campaign will receive lapel pins that they will wear to signify that they have items to trade. When you find another WorldSwapper, be polite! They may be in a hurry to get to their next activity and be unable to trade, or perhaps they don't have their items on hand. Be kind and respectful to everyone you meet!

Rules & Guidelines

WorldSwappers is an unofficial fan-run activity that takes place at the annual Dragonsteel Nexus convention. It is not affiliated with Dragonsteel or any other entity. Any comments or concerns should be directed to the admin team at the WorldSwappers Discord server. There may be Dragonsteel staff on the server; they are there for fun, just like you. Please do not tag them for WorldSwappers questions.Participation in WorldSwappers is entirely optional and voluntary. Participants assume all risk and cannot hold activity organizers responsible for any potential liabilities. On to the rules!

  • WorldSwapping is a trinket exchange between you and the person on the other side of the swap. WorldSwapper organizers have no control over the exchanges, the items swapped, or what becomes of your creative work.

  • WorldSwapping is for fun, not for profit! Don't rip off another's creative concept. The Dragonsteel fan art policy also applies.

  • When you swap items, expect that images or videos of your items could become public, including being posted in the WorldSwappers photo album or on Instagram. The admin team cannot guarantee providing proper credit or attribution for every trinket that gets posted, but we will try!

  • In order to participate in WorldSwappers activities, you must have a valid badge/ticket to the Dragonsteel Nexus convention.

  • The admin team does not support the sharing of personal information to send items via mail. Any conversations about doing so should take place in DMs and will be at your own risk.

Here are some things to consider while participating in World Swappers so that everybody can enjoy the event.

  • In general, keep your items small and easily swappable. It is recommended (though not required) that items are no larger than 4" in any direction of size.

  • Remember that people are expecting to take many items home, so you want them to travel easily! Try to avoid anything too fragile, things that are liquid, etc.

  • Please do not create food items (too many allergy risks) or stickers (at the request of the Salt Palace)

  • You do not have to accept a trade if you do not want to. Additionally, do not try to force a trade on someone. Be respectful of how someone wants to swap!

  • Do not disparage the quality of a gift. Many work hard to create and/or source their gifts, or are doing this as a way of interacting with others.

  • While 1:1 swapping is encouraged, we understand that there could be far more participants than people have prepared trinkets for.

  • DON’T be a Moash; don’t be demanding.

  • DO be kind, courteous, and respectful to your fellow swappers.
